Welcome to the Bridge Benefice
The Bridge Benefice covers five churches in the area: Bridge, Bekesbourne, Patrixbourne, Nackington and Lower Hardres.
The vicarage welcomes enquiries from anyone (even if they do not attend church) about Baptisms, Weddings and Funerals in any of the churches as well as Funerals to be held at the crematorium.Please also visit our prayer pages and pray for the sick and remember those whom we have lost.
Our Priest-in-Charge is The Reverend Canon Jonathan LLoyd. Previous to coming to Bridge, Canon LLoyd, served for the last four and a half years in the Church of England's Diocese in Europe, as Chaplain of St Alban's Church, Copenhagen, and as Archdeacon of Germany and Northern Europe.
He is married to Sue, who works as a Children's Occupational Therapist with Kent County Council. They have two grown-up children, Emma who is a Primary School Teacher, and Sarah who is a Designer.
Jonathan grew up as a child in Chartham (from age 10) and knows and loves the Kent countryside. As a student he picked hops and cherries in local farms. He was a nursing assistant at St Augustine's Hospital which encouraged him to train for a career in psychiatric and palliative care Social Work in London. He was ordained Deacon in 1990 and Priest in 1991 and served as a Curate in Sydenham, South London, as Director of Social Responsibility in the Diocese of Southwark, as Chaplaincy Team Leader at the University of Bath, and as Priest-in-Charge of the United Benefice of Charlcombe with Bath St Stephen.Jonathan said "I am delighted to be serving these two wonderful benefices, and returning to my Kentish roots."
Canterbury Food Bank
Yellow bins for donations will stay in Bridge and Patrixbourne churches, as the Food Bank continues to need our help.The congregations have all been incredibly generous so far. Many thanks to those who have already donated.

Benefice activities and groups (mostly based in Bridge) include:
These run separately for adults and children (usually year 6 and up). Please contact the Vicar to find out when the next run of classes will take place. Usually there are 8 - 10 sessions held over a few months before the confirmation service itself. Confirmation classes are an opportunity to explore and discuss the Christian faith in a small group - a candidate may decide that they do not wish to be confirmed at the end of the classes, there is no obligation to be confirmed at the end if you do not wish to do so.

Morrisons Let's Grow Vouchers
Bridge School are collecting the Morrisons Let's Grow Vouchers for free gardening equipment.
